Whisper Valley is a 2,062-acre, mixed-use planned community located in Austin, Texas. The property was purchased in 2006 because of its strategic location in east Austin, adjacent to the new 8-lane State Highway 130. Located in Austin's "Preferred Development Zone", this site will include approximately 7,500 single and multi-family homes, and more than 2 million square feet of retail and office space. And has the potential to be a $1.5 billion to $2 billion project when fully completed. This community is strategically located 20 minutes from downtown Austin, and about 10 minutes from the corporate campuses of Dell Computer and Samsung. The Austin International Airport is about 10 minutes south of the site. In 2009 the Austin City Council voted unanimously to approve the Development Agreement. In August 2010 the Austin City Council voted approving zoning changes and annexation for a growing part of eastern Travis County including Indian Hills.
