Law firm buys floor of Greenleaf building
A local law firm is the first tenant in the renovated Greenleaf Building, which has been turned into office condominiums.
Albertelli & Halsema P.L. closed on the purchase of the ninth floor of the building July 17, paying $750,000 for about 3,900 square feet.
The 12-story building at the corner of Laura and Adams streets is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was bought last fall by Winter Park-based Taurus Southern Investments LLC for about $5 million and has been undergoing $500,000 worth of renovations since.
Albertelli & Halsema moved into the building back in April while renovations continued on the other floors.
The purchase of the Greenleaf building was Taurus Southern's initial entry into the Jacksonville market. Managing Partner Jeff McFadden said interest is "brisk" for space in the building.
"We cater to the 4,000 to 5,000 square foot, full-floor owner-occupant, or investor," said McFadden.
After entering the local market last fall, Taurus Southern paid $70 million for four office parks in Jacksonville with a combined square footage of nearly 700,000 square feet.
