Since the roaring comeback of the commercial real estate market, we have seen an influx of new developments and many high profile acquisitions. For each such deal, owners must procure the necessary capital that makes the project feasible and ultimately successful. During the fundraising cycle, whether for a new development, acquisition or recapitalization, owners are using some combination of equity, senior financing and subordinated debt to make their transactions possible. How do these three layers of the capital stack differ? How and from where are the funds secured? What role do the funds play in different situations? How do they interact both at the closing table and going forward? Join us as we discuss these three layers of the capital stack with industry veterans and learn what they have seen in the recent past, what they’re seeing today and what they expect going forward.
